It will be apparent to anyone perusing this site that there are very many glaring information shortcomings, e.g. incomplete and perhaps inaccurate membership listings, important events overlooked, funny incidents, (of which there were many) and suchlike for which your researcher wishes to apologise. I have operated on the, perhaps, boring premise of not including hearsay or colloquial legend, only referring to documented and vouched for memberships, happenings or events, which may well explain the absence and non-reference to much of what went on in our club. What I have included is nothing more than memorabilia, data and some photographs acquired from available sources. Indeed, I would be more than happy to hear from anyone who has further light to shed upon events in the Club within the years dealt with. If anyone out there has anything in the way of appropriate memorabilia, newsletters or photographs to contribute or indeed factual corrections with which to appraise me, I shall endeavour to amend same within the limits of the computer.
I wish to thank, most sincerely, anyone who helped me with this project/ labour of love, in particular Trina Mulryan (especially), Donal Carroll, John Breen and Mike Orth through the awesome capacity and intricacies of the computer and Billy Maloney and Douglas Brislane in particular, for passing on much of the early years “stuff”.
I list hereunder many of the personnel who generously contributed much of the memorabilia, photographs etc. I have not attributed specific recognition to the sources of such material, for this I apologise and trust that acknowledgment hereunder will suffice.
