New Club notepaper, designed by John Dowling, introduced.

Feb. 77: Large turnout of 16 Limerick divers undertook a dangerous and difficult search for the body

of a child drowned in the Croom. Some divers lost various bits of equipment in the search, but local people donated £120 ( 152) towards replacement of this gear.

Club compressor repositioned to Michael Hennigar s house, but later returned to the Redemptorist

Monastery.

St. Patrick s Day, Sponsored Fin-Swim from Atlunkard to St.Michael s rowing clubs, in aid of the

National Recompression Chamber, realized £144 ( 183), but Galway S.A.C. (operators of the Chamber) declined the donation, since their financial target had already been reached. The money was placed in Limerick Club funds.

March 77: Popular Limerick diver Michael O Brien, got into difficulties while diving with his buddies

of the Army S.A.C. on the wreck of the Laurentic at 37 metres in Lough Swilly. Having collapsed into unconsciousness upon reaching the surface, he died about 12 hours later.

9- 4- 77: Easter Saturday, tragic diving accident, involving Limerick divers, Noel Conroy and John
